HS2 has received its Royal Assent setting in process the largest infrastructure project in Europe. The HS2 line will come through the UK’s manufacturing heartland passing close to Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull and Castle Bromwich vehicle assembly plants as well as many automotive suppliers.
As such HS2 and Jaguar Land Rover recently hosted their Joint Supplier Engagement event at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. The event provided an opportunity for suppliers and stakeholders to engage with the project and explore potential business opportunities.
Mike Mychajluk, JLRs Supply Chain & External Engagement Manager for Government Programmes opened the event and updated the audience on the company’s growth and engagement with the supply chain. He advised that whilst there would be a certain amount of risk there would also be opportunities, related to the HS2 project, that presented themselves to automotive suppliers, which would allow them the potential opportunity to diversify within the rail industry.
